The Corolla is proving more than adequate as a touring vehicle - plenty of boot space and uses 5-6 l/100km. Sorry I complained about it in the first place. Discovered that my panic reaction on the road is disastrous - move straight to the left. Only embarrassing to date.
The road from Radium Springs (our turnoff for Banff) is straight beside the Columbia river so is very easy driving except if you are tired in which case it is boringly straight. Saw a deer today which a passing car narrowly avoided. Hope to meet a bear that way.
It rained this afternoon which has cleared the air of dust and softened the light. Just hope it is fine over the mountains.
Not many photos today and I have lost confidence in Blogpress with videos after it wrecked the Panorama entry. So here are just a few snaps of no great moment. I will eventually add some kml files from my Nokia Navigator but perhaps not till I'm relaxing on the boat. Travel is tiring!
We were moved to the top floor, end room to the left of the balcony room facing you. Nice view from an uninspiring block.

Some video from Invermere

And the Corolla footage was too boring even for me.
Enough said!

Hi Rob and Tess,
The photos certainly show why people rave about the beauty of Banff and the region. The kilometres to be covered mean that the Canada travel experinece is very like the travelling Australian travel experience so days off to relax and recuperate are essential.
Enjoy the warm weather, please! We have woken this morning to just 2 degrees here this morning and - 2 down in Richmond. Wewish we were there!
The ship experience next. Can't wait to hear about it.
Best, Bev
Russ says - I wonder whether the poor wifi was the cause of your problem, rather than BlogPress. I had trouble in Europe trying to upload photo-heavy pages (all mine were!) when wifi wasn't good.
