No, my rant is directed at the accommodation we were given on arrival here at Fairmont Hot Springs, British Columbia. Now don't blame the Fairmont chain - we are staying at the S@##$$%%% Villas, no relation. They have some nice accomodation here around green golf courses but this is the room we got. Our bedroom is to the right of the ashtray.

The kids use the car park as a skate park, naturally enough so the shutters are drawn. Walk into the carpark and this is what you see.

Lovely Lee will hopefully move us higher tomorrow but it has shaken our confidence somewhat in the whole timeshare/exchange thing. Serves us right I hear you say but then, who is on holiday? Did you see the beautiful lake and mountain scenery from yesterday? I have tried to fill in more details but another drawback of the room is that the wifi only works in the stairwell - two floors up. Other guests think I'm odd standing there with my ipad but I'm a Vines. Reminds me of the Austen Powers "I'm English" line - explains most things:)
So back to Day 3. Tiredness has caught up so we only drove 100k today. I upset Tess somehow too but women are a ...... patient lot.
The highlight was Panorama, a ski resort 20 beautiful curvy kilometres west of Invermere on the Lake. Reminiscent of Thredbo slopes and architecture but so much more I expect, if you happened to stay here in summer. I am tempted to raft down the amazing Toby Creek, which feeds into the mighty Columbia River, beside which we have driven many miles.
We also had a quick side trip to Wilmer. don't bother.
We have been planning what to do. One choice is to drive about 400k to Jasper via Banff and the famous Ice????? Parkway, possibly overnight then return here and then backtrack the 1000k to Vancouver. Not my choice.
Given the uninspiring accommodation, we plan to cut our losses and leave a couple of days early and stay in Banff and Jasper.
Then it is overnight at Kamloops and rush to Vancouver (5 hours) for our flight to Seattle.
- All my own work. RV. Except for the bits by Tess.
Location:Radium Hot Springs and Panorama

Rant away, Rob. I had the same wifi issue at several places I stayed in Europe, and had the same solution- sitting in the stairwell. At least you can compose offline, then move to post.
