Embarkation was a smooth process taking less than an hour. The usual scanning and then ticketing adding to the excitement. walking the corridors is good exercise in itself.

I went to the gym while Tess had a haircut this morning. It was busy and hard to get on much of the equipment. I want to do as much exercise as possible and we have eaten sensibly so far. Our cabin is towards the stern about two glass floors up.

We are back from booking our Shore Excursions, always a costly but necessary part of touring like this. As Stu, the cruise director said, there's not a lot to do in Skagway by foot! He recommended two tours for that stop! The cabin is pleasant and I'm looking forward to sitting on our balcony tomorrow as Tracy Arm Fjord passes by our window. Until then, here are two nice shots of Seattle.

Great excitement a moment ago as whales were surfacing on our side of the ship. The onboard Naturalist was on the PA but we couldn't hear in our cabin. They looked like waves that broke a bit higher. I don't subscribe to the view that whales are terribly smart - give me a dog any day - but a close encounter would be something. Check out the central atrium, 10 stories high!
We have a special dinner tonight in the Steakhouse. Costs us $30 per head. Supposed to be a good deal. A day at sea made me a little headachy but the sea is placid and I've managed to sleep it off. This is a lift decoration.

And this footage is for Em.
And who can resist doggies:)
Tracy Arm here we come!
- All my own work. RV. Except for the bits by Tess.

Love the lift decoration, overwhelmed by the atrium, and in awe of the towel folding!
