The Needle

This is the view from our room.

It's probably the best part of the room as there is a busy road/highway outside. Not that it prevented me from sleeping through till 9am. We nearly missed breakfast!

This was the only sightseeing I managed on our 550k drive from Uvola to Vancouver. It's the first of three tunnels and a suspension bridge cut for the Kettle Railway as it climbed the Coquihalla Pass east of Vancouver. Most of the decommissioned rail bed is now bike path.

The rivers still run wild here. We have driven along side the Upper and Lower Thomson, [insert names of all rivers here]
Arriving in Seattle, we had paid for an airport transfer but there were no welcoming faces or informative volunteers at 9.30pm as had been the case in BC. We wandered for kilometres, it seemed and were helped by some friendly strangers and eventually arrived at the kiosk servicing a shuttle fleet.
Our voucher was with Gray Line buses, apparently out of business but they honoured the voucher anyway and we were delivered to our hotel before midnight. Almost. It was the main Holiday Inn. Ours was a short walk around the back.
Staff helpful and things working out well today .... I hope:)

- All my own work. RV. Except for the bits by Tess.
