Town Hall NSWTF Meeting

Took the 8.40am to Sydney with plenty of other teachers for today's rally and meeting.

Inevitably, caught up with some familiar faces including Dave from my old school at Richmond.

A sea of red shirts marked a great turn out for the rally.

The Town Hall made a great venue for this style of meeting.

Glad I had a seat as it was a long meeting. President Maurie Mulheron spoke very well. Lots of good support acts, including two new teachers. Good to pass the baton:)

Then it was onto the harbour for a Biennale ferry ride to Cockatoo Island.

Location:Sydney Town Hall

BOS18

Stands for Biennale of Sydney, 18th anniversary exhibition.
Made from polystyrene foam, this strange piece of modern art looked better "live" amidst the industrial ruin that is Cockatoo Island.

White and lights were popular features of many pieces.

This is one use for an old shipping container.

Empty oyster shells and old crockery made up this work of art ?????

Some of the restored pieces of machinery were more eye catching for this philistine.

This one sounded better than it looked.

My lift to and from the Quay - Captain Cook 3, free!

Cockatoo Island is worth a visit just for its position and history. I shall return!

How those at Birchgrove live.

Lots of happy tourists on a chilly June day.
