Wellington
Typing this in pyjamas on my balcony as I gave list faith in the iPad version and have good wifi across the road. Some pics from travel day, Nelson to Wellington. The lovely prose from the ferry will have to wait.

Rob's First SUP Outing
Enjoyed a lesson and over an hour trying to learn how to stand up and paddle. Knees bleeding and finger infected afterwards. Apparently it uses 300 muscles. I hope to have another go soon so the muscles don't forget!

Day 2 Out and about in Nelson
Up at 5am again, although this time it's a respectable 7am Kiwi time. Very dark though. Enjoyed too much wine last night at a gathering at the Vervorn house, perched atop a hill overlooking the town and harbour. Best man Liam tells me it is a natural boulder harbour, some tectonic/volcanic wonder I suppose.
I will try to take some shots of our digs. It's an historic home, convenient to the reception place and Tim's in-laws (to be on Saturday arvo). I plan to wander along the Brook, noted in the address above, the river running through Nelson.
Last night was lovely. An informal gathering of Saskia's family and most of the Vines party. Rachel has been enjoying Wellington and the ferry across to Picton. Greg is enjoying his first overseas holiday in 20 years! Don beat us to Aat and Janette's place and is planning some great adventure walk in Abel Tasman National Park. We might have to wait for another visit, perhaps the first wedding anniversary-:))
Emma arrived late last night and is staying in the "party house" as Tess calls it. Haven't heard from her yet. We all gather in a ballroom (my description) for breakfast. I have packed badly so have no jumper to cope with the morning chill. At least I have a fancy suit!
My entry yesterday was brief and
showed the strain of recent days. I trust future entries will inject more festive spirit!
A pause for breakfast.

The wedding of Tim and Saskia
Day 1 - travel day, Sydney to Nelson via Auckland

Flying down the coast from Auckland in the north island to Nelson at the tip of the south, in this Dash 8. A scheduled arrival is all I ask. Not as bumpy as Tim's flight through Sydney hail on Monday.

I'm looking forward to the wedding after a stressful time preparing lessons. Even a week off takes so much preparation. It will have been a long day by the time way land around 5.30pm local time, having risen at 5am and driven through Sydney M5 traffic.
We're trying mascot parking, leaving the rav for the week. We met Deborah, our valet on time, remarkably.
Air NZ served edible food in coach but after navigating customs we had less than an hour for the connecting flight so had to trolley our bags to the domestic terminal, following the green line. Not relaxing.
