Up at 5am again, although this time it's a respectable 7am Kiwi time. Very dark though. Enjoyed too much wine last night at a gathering at the Vervorn house, perched atop a hill overlooking the town and harbour. Best man Liam tells me it is a natural boulder harbour, some tectonic/volcanic wonder I suppose.
I will try to take some shots of our digs. It's an historic home, convenient to the reception place and Tim's in-laws (to be on Saturday arvo). I plan to wander along the Brook, noted in the address above, the river running through Nelson.
Last night was lovely. An informal gathering of Saskia's family and most of the Vines party. Rachel has been enjoying Wellington and the ferry across to Picton. Greg is enjoying his first overseas holiday in 20 years! Don beat us to Aat and Janette's place and is planning some great adventure walk in Abel Tasman National Park. We might have to wait for another visit, perhaps the first wedding anniversary-:))
Emma arrived late last night and is staying in the "party house" as Tess calls it. Haven't heard from her yet. We all gather in a ballroom (my description) for breakfast. I have packed badly so have no jumper to cope with the morning chill. At least I have a fancy suit!
My entry yesterday was brief and
showed the strain of recent days. I trust future entries will inject more festive spirit!
A pause for breakfast.
- All my own work - sorry!
