Kamloops or Bust OR GyPSy Vagabonds

I'm exhausted. It's 10.37 pm Vancouver time and still the same day that I rose at 7 am to visit Tokyo. In the meantime, I've visited Ueno, waited hours at Narita, flown 9 hours across the date line, arrived Vancouver and drove 8 hours (!!!!!) to arrive at Revelstoke, BC. This Mt Begbie.

I should read maps more closely. I wanted to make inroads into the drive to Fairmont Hot Springs on the eastern extremity of BC. It's the place we have "free" accommodation for a week thanks to our Marriott timeshare. This is our hotel in Revelstoke.

For those new to Canada, if arriving at Vancouver, avoid rushing headlong up the trans Canadian highway as we did today, and instead cruise leisurely past the majestic mountain scenery (think NZ South Island on steroids) no further than Kamloops, a mere 5 hours away. Hence the heading. It's plenty far enough for a day. Dinner on the deck with Mt Begbie for the view.

I have enjoyed our tour guide, the GPS device loaded with interesting tid bits of information about pretty well everything that you pass. It helped keep me awake today, if nothing else. It really is very clever. Be warned though, it does not have maps, so we had to pay close attention to hotel signs to find ours tonight. With a noisy wedding party. Good luck to them, I'll snooze through anything! The Lobby

Our room.

And breakfast.

Now that I have amended the Blog, it's off down to Revelstoke then back on the track to Fairmont Hot Springs.
Bye for now.

- All my own work. RV. Except for the bits by Tess.
