A fitting selfie for a Sunday in this purpose built resort.
Sorry to leave the history of Nozawaonsen behind but this is the place for keen skiers apparently, the site of many Winter Olympic events in 98.
I hired some equipment better suited to the deep powder found here, not that it will improve my skiing. This place does seem to have many walking wounded including a broken shoulder and two broken wrists just in Deer Lodge. The wrist victim was upset she could not drink for four days. Strange priorities.
We had an easy two bus trip here in heavy snow.
We also enjoyed a bowl of soup here at the base of a lift.
Notice the bed. No more floor!
Winter wonderland. Glad I wasn't driving though.
The water is icy cold of course. I was happy not to be skiing today as it was cold, overcast and snowing heavily. Now I have my gear though, I will have to go up regardless but as we can ski in and out, I may have long lunches.
Dinner was at Sakura which served well presented, tasty food but
After dessert was finally served...
We waited long enough for the bill that Ross's artistic streak emerged.
Back in our Aussie owned and popular with us lodge. He is slowly renovating one that fell into disrepair. Plumbing needs work but bedrooms are vast. And we can ski to the lifts. Not the same vibe as little Fujiyoshi though.
Until tomorrow, sayonara!
