It's Been a Hard Days .......... Skiing

Skied to our door about 2.30pm today which sounds early but we had an early start.

Hit the slopes after 8am and discovered that Hakaba Hapo deserves it's Olympic rating. There are no real beginners runs and lots of expert skiers. In fact there was racing on one black run.
Didn't get close enough for good photos.

After a days rest I hoped I would be better but the reverse was the case.
A combination of gear designed for powder, hard packed snow and steeper runs sent me back to beginner level and left me very tired.
Hakaba Valley is scenic.

Tomorrow we are going to ski the opposite side.

It was VERY COLD today, even with fancy thermals. Good for snow. The cloud made it difficult to pick bumps and assess the slope.

Ross navigated us around the resort quite expertly and again there have been no queues so we have done a lot of skiing. The slopes are busier than Nozawa but still not crowded. Compared with Australian resorts, these are excellent value.

Lunch was again a highlight.

Ross had the set of soup, spinach, pumpkin and red rice with sesame seeds.

Jean enjoyed the toy shop but couldn't decide between the squeaking cow, shrilling chicken or frog.

The concrete wall was softened by the bearskin, I thought.

Tess will be surprised by the gift I bought her. Nothing practical.

It's beer o'clock. Enough.
