Club Pacific

Watching Lincoln from our USB with the lights of Queenstown (Frankton Road) visible through the sliding doors on my left. Just finished tortillas with left over beef, chicken and Vietnamese spicy sausage. Not doing justice to the movie typing as I watch but when else to chronicle the day???

We returned from our drinkies at the Ridge Resort, a sister timeshare to this one. No one from Queenstown Mews showed so it was just the two resorts, totaling about 20 people. We were the youngest I calculate.

I spoke mainly to Maurice (Morris?) who retired from NZ Police aged 54 and again aged 69. Lives in Wellington, has a permanent onsite at Lake Taupo and a floating week here in Queenstown. Kiwis seem to enjoy timeshare and judging by this little place, I agree with them. After the dismal effort in Canada where I felt we were looked on like relatives who had out-stayed their welcome, it has certainly restored my faith in the timeshare concept.

Tess chatted with a woman who has been teaching 57 years - makes me feel young. Her husband is a famous pianist - Roger Clarke. I'll check him out when we return to normal bandwidth. Lots of other friendly folk and since there are only 6 units here, I expect I will see more of them.

Tomorrow I hope to ride out along Kelvin Gorge where we walked today. It lies on the south western shore of Lake Wakitipu and provides great views of Queenstown. The picture below, believe it or not, is water. It is so clear it just looks like pebbles on a beach. Enough!

Glad you're having a good time despite the weather. Hope it holds off for Wednesday.
