Been there, done that

Very early start for the train to Mascot for a delayed flight. Emirates 777 okay and Apex Focus drives well so far, given its years (2007). I will blame Tim if it fails!
Long drive to Tekapo, arriving in the dark around 7.30 pm. Fish and chips for room service. Modern resort but the view is lousy, made worse by the drought which robbed the peaks of their snowy beauty of Xmas 2008.

Much of this trip covers old territory from that wonderful, lupin filled summer, so why repeat? Partly, it is to use our timeshare week which would have lapsed. Partly though, it is because this is such a lovely part of the world to visit, even in drought.
We are off to the Arrowtown Autumn festival tomorrow. The deciduous poplars and other trees here are a lovely colour.
We also stopped at Peregrine wines to sample their $45 Pinot, again, reprising my 2010 visit with Don. Picked up a couple of their Saddleback(?) entry level wines, so again it is a case of the same but different.
Club Pacific Queenstown is a lovely old fashioned timeshare resort on the western shore of Lake Wakitipu. There are a few units, all with a great view of the lake as well as a kitchen, bikes and easy access to the track around the lake. Much better exchange than Sunchaser Villas in British Columbia.

- Eyelids closing. will complete later.
